Start with material identity
The RFQ should identify grade, equivalent standard, diameter, length, quantity, delivery condition, and heat number traceability expectations. These basics help connect the quotation to the material review process.
Define inspection scope
Quality control can include chemical composition verification, mechanical property testing, dimensional inspection, ultrasonic testing on request, surface condition checks, and material traceability support.
Clarify third-party needs early
Some projects require additional third-party inspection support. If that is part of the buyer approval route, it should be stated in the RFQ together with any document, witness, or timing expectation.
Connect inspection to application
Inspection needs should match the actual part. Hydraulic rods, shafts, threaded components, fasteners, grinding rods, and heavy-duty mechanical parts can require different checks depending on grade, delivery condition, and downstream processing.
Buyer RFQ checklist
- Grade, equivalent standard, diameter, length, and quantity
- Delivery condition and surface condition
- Chemical and mechanical testing expectations
- Dimensional, surface, and ultrasonic testing requirements
- Traceability and documentation needs
- Third-party inspection, packing, and shipment requirements
Inquiry support
Send the grade, size, delivery condition, inspection needs, and destination.
JOTAIN can review the material route, processing needs, quality checks, and export coordination around the actual project requirement.
